    Mind if I whine about my attorney?

    I'm so disappointed in legalhelpers.com. I understand their Detroit office is overloaded right now (Michigan has the WORST economy of all the states in the Union), and one attorney is out for maternity leave, but dammit, I want to file already!

    I sent back my petition with about 2 dozen corrections, they got it last Monday and I requested another copy for review, NOTHING, NADA. Grrrrrrrrrr!

    That would send me over the edge. I'm still in the process of choosing an atty (I found one I liked but now that I'm moving, I have to find a new one - grrrrr!) and this is what I'm afraid will happen too.

    I hope that they get back to you today. Can you keep calling them and pestering them? Squeaky wheel gets the grease maybe? When I was going through my divorce, I found that if I was persistant but not pushy, they would get back to me. I tried to make friends with the paralegal too (although I know she probably wanted to strangle me after a year of haranguing her!).
    11/14/07 -filed C7 12/04/07 -case pulled for random audit.12/18/07 -341 held: Asset case due to engagement ring & tax return.02/19/08 - US trustee files motion to extend. 04/02/08- changed back to NO ASSET! I get my ring back and get to keep my tax return! :clapping: 04/28/08 -DISCHARGED!!! :yahoo::yahoo: 05/07/08 - CLOSED!!!

      I'm probably the biggest pest that's ever hired them - maybe that's why they're dragging their feet! I just think that after paying them $1400 they could be a bit quicker is all.

        I'm a pest too

        Even here in NJ where the economy is supposed to be fairly 'good' the attorneys are a little backed up. Weve had to wait weeks for free consults in quite a few offices. To many bad home loans maybe? We have a ton of chapter 13's listed this month. Hang in there, and keep squeekin'!!!
