I'm reading up, too
Thanks for sharing the information you have received from attorneys. I believe I need to meet with one myself, but like you, have no particular love of the creature.
I'm a single mother of three teenagers. My income is good (on paper). However, I live from check-to-check on a regular basis. My house is very expensive to maintain, and I can't repair things when they break. I'm considering 7 if I'm eligible, as my credit is ruined anyway now, and I can't stand to answer the phone or the door. Does anyone else identify?
Does anybody understand what it means to have a $125,000 limit on mortgage exemption? I'm mortgaged to the hilt, and certainly don't want to lose everything and still owe the mortgagor.
Thanks everyone, and good luck.

Hang in there
Yes, I do know where you are at. I have always paid my CC on time. Of course, to do so for the last several months has meant that I have pulled myself down to a bare bones budget. Finally, after reviewing all of my options, and realizing with a student loan coming due soon upon my graduation, and an majorly upside down car, my best option, was a Chapter 13.
So....since I have to do the 90 days, I am doing the dreaded phone off the hook. It eats me up. Once I see them on the caller ID my lawyer writes them a letter. Because my income is good, my unsecured creditors will get a large portion of their money back. Its just that I need the "cram down" of a !3 for my car, and for my CC debt to be reduced, as the interest is killing me.
I just so want this over.
Good luck!
