    something odd, maybe....

I went to pay my last bit of fee, asked when they would be calling me to do our paperwork. Its been weeks since I retained this place. The calls are getting more & more aggressive. The girls said it takes awhile to get the petition ready, so they would call me when it was. How can they get the petition ready when all I gave them was my cc statements for last month? Do they just use IRS figures then go over it with you? I though we would sit down and kind of go over it together. Am I wrong?
I just sit here hoping this place knows what the heck they are doing. They are uber busy, super large firm.

BE PATIENT....... some firms are slower than others but they usually get the job done......

They will do your petition, call you in to go over it (for changes), then call you back in to sign it.......

For the next couple of weeks you are going to be a nervous wreck, not really knowing whats going on probably.......

When you meet with your attorney to go over the petition, that is the time to ask all your questions...... he's there and al the information he needs is there (hopefully)......

Just make sure that you turned in true, update information and all of it that he requested so he can do your petition.

Normally an attorney WILL NOT FILE anything until he is paid in full up-front......

    Keep us posted.

Even tho attnys often do "adjust" your figures somewhat, there's still expenses you have that they use the real numbers. Rent/mortgage, insurances, etc.

We did a "sit-down" with the paralegal. Gave her a stack of paperwork and then we went over Schedule J line by line. Some of our real life figures, she put a * beside. Our real life number was too high or we spent way less than the Schedules Allowable.

I'm surprised your attny hasn't asked for copies of anything from you. We had to turn over 4 years of taxes and W-2's, insurance policies and premiums statements, a copy of our life insurance policy, CC's and bank statements, pay stubs, a whole ton of stuff. The paralegal said they scan it all into their system to create an electronic file of our info. That way, if we get audited or the UST's Office had a question, they could just print out the appropriate documentation.

I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.

All he took was our last cc statements, two years tax returns, and ss numbers. He had us sign for our credit report release. We had our counseling faxed to him. We have not met with the paralegal yet. Its just odd. When we retained him he asked for approx amounts of various bills. I guess I just have to trust him, and put it in higher up's hands for now.
