    too stupid for pacer?

    Ok, we filed in April, had our 341 yesterday. I just tried to use pacer for the first time, and i cant get it to pull up anything. I have tried using our name, case # , and even looked on dates. Im just thinking im doing something wrong, cuz shouldnt there atleast be something (like our case, even if there isnt an updates). Id mess with it somemore, but ive tried everything i can see? Anyone?

    My 341 was on 5/21 and it isn't in PACER yet either. I guess it just hasn't been entered.

      Since you just tried using Pacer for the first time today I will ask the obvious question....did you register and get your Pacer account set up first? Other than that it may just be as simple as the site is down at the moment or something along those lines.


      Adding sometimes it does take awhile for your stats to show up, you just had your 341 yesterday so it could take a week for the trustee to file a report. Patience is key.

        Just to be sure that PACER wasn't going thru maintenance or something, I went there and accessed our case. It worked for me.

        This is gonna sound stupid too, but,...........

        Did you Register??

        You have to Register with PACER to gain access. PACER assigns you a User ID and Password. If you use a Debit Card when you Register you can gain immediate access, and your User ID and Password are emailed to you, generally within 24 hours. Otherwise, you have to wait for your User ID and Password to be mailed to you within about a week.

        Next possibility is you selected the wrong BK District. I've done that before. Clicked on the BK District link just above or below ours. If you do that, you won't find your case.

        Here's instructions for how to quickly locate your case info:

        http://pacer.psc.uscourts.gov/

        Top toolbar, upper left, next to Register. You'll get a drop down menu.

        Select PACER Links. Next page, select BK, upper toolbar to the right.

        Then, find your State and District. Click on that link.

        Next page, you'll see a Court Seal top center with a Link under it. Click on that link.

        Next page, you log in with your User ID and password. Click "log-in" and it will take you to a new page.

        In the top toolbar, select Query. Next page, you can enter your BK Case number or SSN and click "run query". It will take you right to the main page of your BK filing.

        BK paperwork is posted on PACER in .pdf format so you'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open the files.

          Thanks everyone, guess I will just have to be patient. I just thought atleast my paperwork for the bankruptcy filing would have been on there. But i will wait a week and try again. Yeah, i registered as soon as i filed, just hadnt seen the need to try pacer yet. I have my user name and password. And i had seen sinkingfasts directions on here before and i copied them, and it took me right to it, just wasnt anything there yet, i guess. But i was able to log in just fine. I guess im just not very good at the waiting game. Its gonna be a long 60 days, lol The company taking back our mobile home filed for relief from stay. The court date for that is tomorrow, glad we dont have to go to that. (giving back the mobile home). So i guess while it seems like a lot is going on with our case, I guess none of it is PACER worthy as of yet. But thanks again everyone, and i will be back next week asking again if nothing is showing up then. Right now it is just saying case not found.

            You might wanna call the Clerk of the Court. Unless you live in a backwater Court District that does not use Electronic Case Filing, your case should be showing on PACER. Most all Courts use Electronic Case Filing now.

            Maybe you have the wrong case number?? Maybe a number inverted or something?? Or your SSN got entered incorrectly??

            Something definitely sounds wrong if you're seeing "Case not found" when you try to Query and you filed over a month ago.

                Well, I finally found it on there. Somehow i got to a place thru the courts link? Who knows i just kept piddling and somthing came up with a place to enter SS#. I did that and we are there. But no news. Atleast i know we are on there. Thanks Everyone, Again.

                  This is the very quick way I get into pacer: Go to https://ecf.nynb.uscourts.gov/cgi-bin/login.pl
                  Fill in ONLY the log in and password.
                  Next page hit Query.
                  Next page fill in ONLY your case number.
                  I save the URL address in my favorites.
                  If you live in another state besides NY I would try changing the ny in the URL to your state abbreviation or finding out what the URL would be and then save it to your favorites. Takes me about 8 seconds to get into my case.
