I'm meeting with my attorney today to file bankruptcy. My house value is iffy - meaning that the value given by my realtor placed it at $255,000, which leaves it at my equity portion of about $33,000 - we're allowed $40,000 in Washington state. The trustee may say ok, or he may say let's get it appraised and see if it's worth selling and possibly getting more (according to my attorney). What does the Trustee do with the appraisal I provide? Does he automatically turn it over to his realtor for appraisal? And what happens if they think they can sell it for more, and it doesn't. Does the attempted sale just end?
Thanks.
Thanks.
