    WoW, I had no idea about this. So a trustee can actually request money that's in your account? I mean how do they expect you to buy food, gas, etc...

    Your problems are not the trustees problems. The trustee acts in the interest of your creditors. There job is to be certain you have no assets above the exemptions that your state allows.
    Just be sure your bank account does not have more in it than your states exemptions allow when you file.

      I couldn't find anywhere that listed the cash on hand exemption for Kansas, so I paid my rent with a money order, and had about $7 in the account when I filed. I figured that ought to be safe, and if the trustee really wanted my $7, he could have it.
