    Exemptions - help please

    Has anyone had experience with Florida exemptions? I have seen conflicting information. Is this correct below? And just as important - does this double if I file jointly with my wife?

    Auto - $1000 in one vehicle

    Homestead exemption

    Other personal property - $2000 if you also claim homestead, $4000 if you do not

    We didn't file in FL but others here have.

    Florida does have rather piddly Exemptions, outside the unlimited Homestead Exemption.

    As far as whether you can double if you file Joint,......... Hopefully others will chime in for you on that.

    Definitely a question for attnys in your area as you Consult around.

      I thought it was only 1K for other personal property if you were claiming homestead but I could be wrong. I'll find out shortly, I'm filing soon.
      11/14/07 -filed C7 12/04/07 -case pulled for random audit.12/18/07 -341 held: Asset case due to engagement ring & tax return.02/19/08 - US trustee files motion to extend. 04/02/08- changed back to NO ASSET! I get my ring back and get to keep my tax return! :clapping: 04/28/08 -DISCHARGED!!! :yahoo::yahoo: 05/07/08 - CLOSED!!!
