Pre BK session

I have called three different pre BK counseling companies and none of them have in person appoitmnets that will work. Is it ok to do it over the phone or via the internet or do you think it is better in person. I guess over the phone would not be that bad but i thought i had to provide a bunch of paperwork, etc.

Yes...many debtors simply do the online version. The only catch is, if you are in a rush to file, it can take a little time before you get your certificate. But, yes, you can do over the phone or via the internet.

The Pre BK session is really quite pointless.

Thanks probably not filing anytime soon since I am/was up to date on my CC's and used one about 10 days ago so i was going to wait 90 days before filling but wanted to get teh ball rolling.

I did the prefile online with cccs at http://www.cccsbankruptcy.org/ It was relatively simple. Just fill in your financials, pay them $50, and they send you an email in 24-36 hours saying that you are broke and giving you a certificate. It was a major ripoff, as it wasn't about learning anything, but rather "Hey broke guy, give me $50 so I can tell you that you are broke!"

Thanks for the link. I just finished it right now. I was going to use the Hummingbird website, but they wanted a certified money order and mailing etc was just such a hassle. At least this company lets you pay them directly from your bank account.

Althought hind sight be 20/20, I should have printed out the pages that contained all the debt, asset info as I went along. Now I'll have to go throught it again to give the numbers and acct numbers to my attorney.. DOH!!!!

I tried using the "back" button, but it wouldn't work for me. SUCKS!

But anyway, I guess it's done now. Just waiting for the certificate via email.
