    Met with Lawyer today

Hello, I met today for our free consultation. It seems we may need to go with a Chapter 13 but he will try a 7. His fee including the $189 court fee is going to be ~$1600. Does that sound like a reasonable fee? (I am in NYS)

Will he be able to stop a judgement from being excecuted onto a savings account or will I lose that money? (The bank just received the judgement papers yesterday.)

There are only two lawyers that specialize in Bankruptcy in our County and the other one is 100 miles away. I was going to meet with both, but found this man very personable and seemed honest and above board. ...but $1600 whew!!!

Thanks for any coments or suggestions.

As for the fee, it depends, but if he is the only one in you area, you are probably stuck with it...

If he files you right away, he can stop the execution, but even if they execute, there is a way to get the money back.

$1600 is still within the average price range.
