    Bankruptcy in Canada

A little history, my wife and I are on the verge. We owe $170,000 in unsecured debt. Credit Cards, Lines of Credit etc.... We sold our home a while back to pay some down, but then we racked them back up. She is gainfully employed and I am self employed and going through a rough time.

We are getting further and further behind. I also have a gambling problem (I did, it has been fixed, but I always will) and it has caused a huge amount of problems. 40,000 of the debt is in vehicles, so not all unsecured.

Is it time to pull the plug? I have a co-signor on one line of credit, so that will be a tough conversation.

    Your thoughts?

I'm sure Canadian bankruptcy filing may be a lot different then filing in the USA.... Different laws, different system.....

I'm not sure that we can help you here on the forum except maybe offer some morale support.

You need to contact some attorneys in your area and get some input.....

    Keep us posted...

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
