How easy is it to discover bank accounts

How easy is it for creditors and their collections henchmen to discover our bank accts.

I have one new one I never used to pay bills to any of my creditors. Is it likely to be shielded from prying eyes?

I'm not dealing with the govt yet. Have not filed BKK yet.

Every new bank account I've opened results in a credit inquiry on my credit report that everyone in the business seems to have access to. It would be pretty hard to hide unless the account has been open so long it had fallen off the report AND you've never had credit or anything with that bank that gets reported AND you've never paid a creditor with the account. Not likely to be true with your new account!
Discharged November 2008 100 days after filing no-asset Chapter 7. We intended to let a two-year-old vehicle go back to the bank and reaffirm an inexpensive ten-year-old SUV and our home mortgage. In the end we surrendered ALL of our vehicles and reaffirmed NOTHING. We'll "ride through" our mortgage after the court ruled it an undue hardship.

I am assuming that you are aware of the fact that collection agencies can do absolutely nothing without obtaining a judgment in a court of law, relative to seizing funds in a bank account.

Post-judgment efforts will almost certainly discover any bank account you might have with major banks. A blanket inquiry is transmitted to every single bank in your state requesting any information associated with your name and social security number. You can safely assume that banks will respond, sooner or later.

When push has come to shove, it's time to close all bank accounts, buy a strong box to keep at a second cousin's house, and cash your checks at Wal-Mart.
