I have another question??? I'm sure that as time progresses with my BK 7, I will have lots of questions. I have a debit/check card through my bank. Will it be affected since I have filed? I recall my attorney saying that my bank account should not be affected, but I've been reading some past posts and came across a similar situation where the individual lost use of the debit card. I have been with the same credit union for about 14 years, and hope that I don't lose any privileges. None of my debts filed in the BK 7 pertained to my credit union (no loans, etc.). If anyone can help me with this, I would truly appreciate it. I am on good terms with the credit union, as there are no debts for an overdrawn account. PLEASE HELP!!!

ouch!!! That hurts!!! At what point will I know if I'm going to lose my debit card? As of yesterday, it was still working. It's been about two weeks since my BK 7 was filed. If I lose my debit card, I will be lost. I don't write too many checks because it's easier for me to just use the debit card. Uggh!!! Now that is stressing me even more. Thanks for your response.

We didnt lose ours and we have had an account with our bank for over 20 years. I agree with you I would be lost too w/o it. I dont write many checks either. Coincidentially, we also have one with the credit union which we havent used much...no money to speak of; we do have a loan with them though and we reaffirmed that so maybe we are on borrowed time until it is paid off.
