    Another Day Down

Got alot done today. Opened new account for our checking and savings. Slowly going to empty the old one. Got an appointment with another attorney for the 23rd. Got the grocery shopping done, not fun was so scared about spending money! Had a panic attack inthe store, not fun. Today is my son's birthday. So I am trying to hold it all together for him.

Did anyone go through a phase where you were absolutely terrified of not having money each month. HUbbys overtime has dropped off, so we are on a tight budget as we are also saving for an attorney.

    Thanks

Congrats on the progress you are making. Happy bday to your son.

I am haven't stopped spending money on the things I need. I spent 70$ yesterday for gas and 350$ on groceries.

I am not going to let filing BK stress me out.

ETA: I have been using cash/debit card only since February.

We stocked up on a few grocery items and filled up the cars one last time before going the 90 days without using them to file. We also did some car maintenance things, clutch was going out, new brakes, oil change etc. No luxery type stuff and we kept the receipts just in case. Atty says if we need to use a card for food in that 90 days it's fine and no big deal. I just don't want to worry about it. We did a good Costco stock up trip and should be ok for awhile. I sold several items on ebay to help cover atty costs. I also had some cash left from tax refund so he's all paid up now. We are both really working on not doing the Starbucks or Cold Stone type of snack runs whenever we feel like it. We made a budget for dates. A small budget. Once a week we go on a long walk or hike and go get a coffee or ice cream afterwards. Cold Stone is half off for active duty military. A lot cheaper than dinner and a movie with popcorn. Yes I am stressed about spending too much, but I've obsessed over the budget several times and we can make it ok. We just have to only spend the amount we alloted for each event. I need to take cash to the grocery store and a calculator so I know where I'm at. I've always been a decent grocery buyer, but if I went over I never worried about it much. Now I won't, and can't afford to go over. It's a lifestyle change for sure, but all my families needs are met. I looked into a cheaper cable and internet plan, but no matter how I go it only saves up to 25 a month for basic cable and slow internet. I kept it for now since the kids will be out of school next week, and with a limited entertainment budget, the TV and internet might be a cheap form of something to do when the temp is 100+ outside. I figured we could go to the beach once a week, maybe twice a few of the weeks, but I have a darn gas budget to stick to as well. We are camping at the beach for 2 weeks in our travel trailer before it's repoed as well. It's already paid for, actually since last summer since we had to cancel due to a surprise deployment for hubby. So, I've gradually become less stressed, especially now that hubby is on board with the new budget and is working with me as a partner.

Where do you live at that you get 1/2 off Cold Stone if you are active duty?

I live in Lake Elsinore. You have to ask them if they offer the discount, they won't tell you. I have been to others that do also, I think in Oceanside.

I know only a few places around here that offer military discounts. Of course, I forget to ask at many places.

The next time I am at Cold Stone, I will be sure to ask.

We stopped using credit cards 3 weeks ago. all cut up and thrown out! Taking our son out to Texas Roadhouse in a bit only because we had a little bit of money put aside for that. But we won't be going out anywhere for quite some time, I am too scared to spend any money and we probably won't be filing until December. Its gonna be A LONG six months. I would love to see the Sex and the City movie, but we will have to see.
