    Means Test

Is there a way for me to do the means test on myself? It will kill me to have to wait until my meeting with our lawyer in two weeks. I get 888 dollars bi-weekly, after taxes I take home 647. My husband gets a lot of overtime so his is always different, but his bring home after taxes is between 1500 to 2000. Anyone know if we are beyond the income level? When we went to the credit counsellor she checked all of our bills and found that we are unable to afford them monthly, by more than 500 dollars. Any thoughts or advise?

Go to http://www.legalconsumer.com/bankruptcy/means-test/ for a free online means test. You will need verification of all pay for the 6 months prior to filing for your lawyer. You may as well gather that now. Just read thru this means test and answer the questions. It helps if you already have the previous 6 months of income.

    Good luck

I'm in Ohio. It's me and my husband and we have his son 50% of the time.
I am just filing without my husband.

Where do I enter gasoline, entertainment, insurance, etc on the Means Test? The same line as cel phones, internet, cable tv, etc?

Just a suggestion: remember it's gross income, not net, that is at issue in the first part of the means test.

Ah.... Then why even have deductions on the Means Test? Ugh!

I guess my consultation next Monday will tell me 7 or 13. Either way I'll save at least $500 a mo minimum. Over who knows how many years????
