    If you have already filed for BK, it probably won't make any difference on your score, you will have taken a hit for the BK filing itself. It is always better for a creditor to see that the account was closed by the consumer.

      And yes, Citi are butts, they will definately close any/all cards that you carry that they are the backer on. Just my experience.

        Citi, Chase, AMEX, and BOA will close your accounts regardless.

          Yes, Home Depot is a Citi card.

          BTW, I sent an email through online to my regular Citi card the other day when they lowered the limit and asked WHY.. basically because I was ticked that their tactic seems to be: lower the limit on an account that raises a red flag to just above the balance, & DON'T notify them, so that the consumer will exceed the limit and be charged a fee, and then they have a reason/explanation to raise the rate to 28%+.

          My answer from CS: "If you have questions about why we lowered your credit limit, please call the Credit Early Warning department at XXX-XXX-XXXX". Figured.

          6/16/08: Attorney approached lenders to surrender old home
          8/26/08: Met w/attorney RE: filing BK
          9/29/08: Filing Chapter 7
