Hi! I've been lurking here for the last few days and everyone seems very friendly so I thought I would post my situation.
I live in Missouri and I am unemployed. I am married and we have teenage daughter. I am filing alone because all the credit card debt is in my name only. I have three cards that I have had forever and the minimum payments on them are over 1,000 dollars a month...33,000 dollars total owed. We just can't keep up anymore. Even if I got a full time job, being uneducated, I still wouldn't be able to make the monthly payments. We are a little over the median for our state. Will be taking the means test soon, I think I will qualify for chapter 7. The only things we have in both our names is a joint checking account and our house, which we owe more on than it's worth.
I don't really have any questions right now, as we are just now getting this process started. I am just a nervous wreck about the whole thing and hubby doesn't understand. He thinks this is all going to be so easy. Of course, he's not the one filing!!! I am so glad I found this forum to talk to people who do understand!
