So, I am getting ready to close my business and file bankruptcy, so I will be closing my business checking account soon. I went today to open a personal business and checking account. I knew that my credit score was pretty low, 500s, but that I hadn't filed yet--so I figured now was the best time to try and open new personal accounts.
I did let the teller know that I was filing, and was wondering if that would affect my ability to open a checking account, get a debit card, etc., and she said that none of my "checks"--that they run--showed up with anything saying that I couldn't open an account, etc.
So, anyway--I was able to open both a checking and a savings account. Will those survive the bankruptcy, or will the bank likely close my accounts once my bankruptcy hits the airwaves?
