One more question, I've looked a few places and see info that doesn't match up. Does anyone know if Wiscosnin has a wildcard exemption. My parents are thinking of filing, they have a 2000 Chevy truck worth about 12,000 that is paid off. My dad is scared that they would take his truck. I don't know what to tell him. He can't file if they are going to take his truck. The vehicle exemptions in WI wouldn't cover it. One spot I read said WI has 19,000 if married and another says 1,075. Can you ask an attorney questions without being "under oath"?

What "value" DO the trustees accept anyway? Does anyone know? I was told to use Edmunds private party, but I think they would have a hard time selling my van for that - closer to Edmunds trade in probably - maybe even less!Filed Ch 7 -- July 9, 2008

Tell me about it!Originally posted by systemslt View Postthat $12,000 for a 2000 p u seems way high. look at kelly blue book values and low ball from their. gas prices are killing the value of these trucks
When we filed, also in Wisconsin, they valued my Escalade at $24K. I'd be lucky to get $14K for it right now.
