I'm wondering what happens if a debtor's expenses are less than the IRS schedule in certain areas. Is the debtor entitled to the full amount or can that be challenged by the trustee handling the case? Thanks.

I think you are allowed the full amount but I am not certain.

On the "means test" you use the IRS expense amount, however, on Schedule J (expenses), you use what you actually spend.
