Sorry if this has been already addressed

I just got an email for BOA saying my online banking access has been blocked. This is what I got. Is this a ploy for me to update or what? The calls are getting more frequent these days and only 60 days out. Hanging on and holding upThanks all.

I have experienced similar things with our cards that are backed by HSBC. They blocked me from access a couple online accounts( I wanted to delete our bank account info). We also received a letter from Best Buy for HSBC stating our address had been changed and we they want to confirm this correct and asked us to call them at the phone number on the back of the card to confirm this is correct.

The funny thing is a lady called us last week and my wife used the BK script i provided to give the callers information. The lady said.. I see you also have a Best Buy Credit card with HSBC. Would you like us to add the same not to the account. In which case we said please use the same information provided.

Is that something I should do remove all bank account info ie: checking account numbers, bank info etc? Or does it really matter? They cant take out money without authorization can they? They are all CC's like Boa, Citi, Amx, and Chase

I think it's a physing scam. I get these fake emails from BofA and Citi all the time even though I haven't dealt with them for years. Included their cards in my 2004 filing, and never ever had any checking/savings with them.
These are fake emails to get you to reveal your username and password. Don't do it.

Mine was not from an email. Mine was received in the mailbox. I don't think they liked the phone script I put together for me and my wife to use. I told her whatever you do.. Do not answer yes or no for any questions.. Just refer them to our attorney.. If they don't want to take the attorney information hang up on them.

Ready- They are not supposed to.. However, I don't trust them. That.. I also have read about where they take the money out of accounts. However, the complaints on this forum usually seem to relate to credit accounts where people also have a checking & savings account.. I.E BOA

You won't be able to delete all of your accounts if you have only one ( but try to). I am just anal and don't want them having my account info online anymore. I also took screenshots of me closing the account online ( ctrl+shift +Print screen).. Then paste into a document
