    Dealing with a Collection Agency

I am getting hammered by a collection agency. This revolves around a disconnected cellphone and outstanding bill. I have already paid half of the final bill and just made another payment, to the actual phone company, not the Collection Agency. The phone company has been cashing my checks and crediting my account. Collection Agency is pissed cause I am not listening to them, and they aren't getting any of my money.

How can I get them to stop, as I can show proof that phone company is getting paid?

How much do you have left to pay? Just curious. Send the CA a cease and desist letter, informing them to only contact you by mail. You may also wish to include in your letter information about the fact that you have worked out a payment plan with the original creditor.

If the cell phone company sold off your debt to a collection agency, you no longer owe the cell phone company any money. You owe the collection agency. Do not pay the cell phone company any money until you get this straight.
