paying back overdraft in bank

We had to use our overdraft privledge in our bank to live on last month. We owe 464. They closed our account and have been calling. We are filing in Feb or March. Should we pay them or put it on the bk? I am thinking we should pay because it will be hard enough after the bk to get a checking account and I want to make sure we are able to get one.

I was in that same situation, and what I did was went and opened up another checking account at a different bank before the bank that closed my account reported me to Chexsystems. I included the bank that closed my account in my Ch 13, and they did report me to Chexsystems. Once you are reported to Chexsystems, it will stay there for 5 years, and it will be hard to get an account elsewhere.
