    Give them the boat now?

I filed Ch. 7 on 12/29 and have a boat that I'm letting go in the process. The boat is in a storage unit now and I'm considering bringing it to the house but want to know if I'm going to have the embarassment of someone coming and picking it up while I'm at work. The neighbors don't work.

Do they pick it up now or will it be after the 6 month or so process of all this? Can they come pick it up? Should I drop it off?

I'm not trying to be shady and keep the boat as long as I can, its a HUGE weight off my shoulders knowing I don't have to pay that $640 anymore. I've been struggling with it forever now. However, after I've struggled with it for this long I wouldn't mind hanging onto it until the bloody end. LOL

    Tell me what to do.

Well, the neighbors can go pound sand as far as they're concerned..after all is it REALLY going to matter to you what they think?

I'd bring it, make sure it's nicely polished and clean (Hey, I do like a nice looking boat, even if I don't own one) and ready to roll...Maybe slap a for sale sign and take offers (Even the crazy low ones and tell them all "I'll think about it")

Then, when the company takes it, tell everyone that you hooked a live one and they paid 2X what the boat was worth!

    hee hee hee hee!

Ha ha! Its not that I care what they think necessarily. I just don't want some ******* rutting my yard where I park it.

The latter is too much work.

Well, its going to go sooner or later... can they pick it up at the storage unit? They do have to file for a relief of stay to pick it up, and maybe they are just going to wait for discharge? I don't know where you are, but in many areas of the country, it is not exactly boating season right now, so they might figure that they will wait.

I gave up an RV in the process. They picked it up back in August, when we told them that we were going to file. Sheesh, it didn't take them a day to come and get it! Our lawyer said that we still would receive a notice of the sale, and what the deficiency was, even though we are not responsible for the deficiency, it is law that they notify. Oddly enough, they still haven't sold it. I figure that they, knowing that they are not going to collect the deficiency, are holding on to get as much as possible in the spring.
Filed 8/08 - Discharged 11/08! Not tracking FICO.
        Pre-Bankruptcy Net Worth: -$72,000... Today's net worth: $142,000.
If your FICO score just went higher than your net worth, and you are happy about this, you might have a financial problem!

It'll be boating season at the end of Feb....can I use it until discharge?

I don't even like asking that, but its an honest question.
