    Opening in-store credit before bankruptcy

    Here's my question:

I need to buy a new mattress. Next week I will have my lawyer all paid off for bankruptcy. Then, I'll have $200 for a new mattress. The one I want is $400, and the guy at the store told me that I can do in-store financing for the other $200. He does the financing, it doesn't go through a bank or anything. I know I'm not supposed to open any more credit before, or during bankruptcy, so will they know about the in-store credit? Is it ok that I do that? Will it jeperdize my bankruptcy attempt?

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!!

If the information provided to you is 100% correct. It should not impact your BK filing at all. However, you'll definately want to get out of the habit of using credit to purchase goods. You don't want to find yourself in the same financial disaster again!

    Good Luck!
