Census Bureau Jobs Decent Pay

Just a thought for some of our out of work members. The Census Bureau is hiring right now for the 2010 Census.

My mom and my aunt applied today, ( bless their hearts, they are in their 70's an pooooor) The CB pays 15.00 an hour for temp positions. I know it isn't tons, but it is something and may help someone get by until something changes.


Just thought I would put a little reminder out there for those looking for work.

Dingdong: Excellent suggestion.

My Sister-in-Law lives in Northern California and retired from the Army. She is a People Person, 59 yrs. old and is excited about working temporary for the Census Bureau.

I'd love to be able to do go door to door in our area, but don't think my scooter's battery would hold a charge all day toddling down the road in it LOL!

I took the test mid-February here in NJ.
Results were called to me in a few weeks and I was told once they open the local office I could expect another call.
It is a relief to know that something is out there.

TO Lu and other disbled members.

Not all of the jobs are door to door, some are office positions.

Don't let the fear of going door to door stop you from applying.

THe Fed has to be ADA compliant

I wish they paid that much here. It really varies from state to state.

But then you also have to be able to be on your feet all day.
I'm to much of a wimp. I had to work 9-6 last saturday and my shins were so sore.

This is a good opportunity. The way I see it, the government is doing this census and paying, so might as well get in on it.

HMM i didn't know that. I thought it was all door to door. I will check into this.

I would think the pay would be the same for all states since it is a Fed job?

I could be wrong ( and often am)
