Opening new Checking acct?

I included my current checking acct in my bk - how hard is it to open a new acct during/after bk? It would be nice to have a acct with debit card for certain things...

I never had a problem opening a new Checking account. Usually it's due to passing many bad checks and such that gets you put on "No Chex" system.

Don't go to Bank of America. Just prior to filing BK I went to open a checking account with them, and they denied me they said based on my credit report from transunion, not on chexsystem. I have never bounced a check or written a bad check.

I have a Chexsystems listing and was able to open a US Bank account. I don't think they even checked my credit/Chexsystems, at least they didn't say anything.
