    I'm on Pacer!

Boy, if this isn't the weirdest thing to see. I did the online registration with my BOA card and got instant access. I didn't read all the instructions but did manage to get to the right page and did find my Ch.7 filed on 10/06. I was able to find the name of my trustee. Called my lawyer's office and asked about him. The secretary told me that the trustee I have is one my lawyer likes; i.e. he's fair/nice. My case is listed as a no-asset.

I still have to get a couple of appraisals on the 2000 4Runner to take to my 341. Maybe things won't be so bad after all.

Why do you have to get appraisals on your 4-runner? I drive a toyota too and I know the blue book seemed quite high.... are you hoping the appraisal will be lower? What did you use for value on your forms? Just curious as I also drive a toyota suv....

My problem is I own the 4runner outright.

My exemption in FL is $1K...I have no car payments...they could take my car...presently, it needs about $3K worth of repairs (new catalytic converters, power antenna, rear bumper replacement, roof rack faded from FL sun, possible starter problem) and it's a 2000 with 92K miles....I currently have a lien on the title that was done a year ago, to my mother, when I borrowed 5K from her.

I need to document the repair work so that my vehicle will have a lower value in regards to it's worth. If the trustees were to want to take it, now they've not only got a gas guzzler on their hands ($45 @$3 per gallon) and probably will be getting a glut of SUVs, but they have to fix everything that's wrong with it and now they're spending their $$ to get rid of my problem...so it might not be worth their while to deal with it.

My lawyer suggested Carmax & I'm going to go to Toyota as well, because I know they'll give me a low figure.

Think you are headed down the right track. Decent mechanic or maybe your insurance company adjuster. Just thoughts.
