What if I no longer have the merchandise?

A store I bought items from and filed bankruptcy against and received a full discharge on now wants their merchandise back.

The larger items were purchased over a year ago.

What if I do NOT have the merchandise any more??????????

Interesting thought there for sure. But if secured, then it's a problem...Did you list them as secured or unsecured?

    If unsecured, they are SOL.

Do you still owe them money on the items.

NO longer have merchandise they want back

We no longer have merchandise a creditor wants.

        What happens now????????

We had a store credit card with a balance due, that was one of the debts discharged.

Now several months later they want stuff, not sure what because they haven't said yet.

We do NOT have any of it. It is was sold after the discharge.

Usually if you tell them you don't have it, they tend to leave you alone. What store is it, that should give you some idea of what it was.

But realize, strictly speaking, secured debts are NOT discharged in bankruptcy. You may have listed the debt, but that does not mean it was dicharged. A secured creditors lien on property survives bankruptcy. So, if you still owed them money, and it was a secured debt, and you stopped paying them, they have a right to take the property.

If you no longer have the property, you may have a problem. But as a practical matter, if were talking about personal property...they will generally back off.
