    Before being allowed to file either Chapter 7 liquidation or a Chapter 13 repayment plan, debtors must prove they've attended, within the six months before filing, a credit-counseling program approved by the Department of Justice. You can find the list of approved providers at the link below.

    Before your bankruptcy case is closed, you'll have to go through another round of education -- this time intended to teach you financial-management skills. You'll find the DOJ-approved list of debtor-education providers at the link below.

      What is up with these sites - I click for Colorado and there is a list, but they are all over the country, one from Colorado.........strange

        Teri-they're probably registered/licensed to do business in certain states.
        Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

          I've been in credit card counseling for a year now, and am looking to file Ch 7 BK. My CCC company isn't on the list, and you can only enroll once every 5 years. Am I just screwed?

          341 Meeting 5/22/07
          Last day for Objections 7/23/07 - Discharged 7/25/07 - Closed 7/31/07
          On to rebuilding!
