I had two cars i let get repoed (they wouldn't let you voluntary surrender) back in May. I dropped the insurance on both vehichles with no problems - as they were both being garaged and not driven.
If you do this; please remember to notify your local DMV and submit a release of liability!
I totally forgot to do this; and i've received "reminders" from the DMV that the cars are not insured.
They have both already been auctioned; so ownership should have transferred; but i just want to remind everyone to do that.
In CA- you can do it online.
