    Relocation?

Well, things being as they are, I know if I file now, there's a better then average chance my 341 meeting will be somewhere in late Feb, this presents a time problem...I hope to move by late Jan.

So, how long do I have to be a resident of a new state to file bankruptcy?

My understanding of the new laws-

You file w/ the state exemptions of where you've lived for the past 2 years. If you didn't live in one place for the past 2 years, then you file w/ the exemptions of the state where you lived for 91+ days of the 180 days prior to the 2 years. If you didn't have 91+ days in one place, you use federal exemptions.

I'm not sure if that means you have to file in the old state, or how that works. How far will you be moving? If you move after filing, would you be able to travel back for the 341?
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.
