I have seen where if you don't have much equity in your home and you continue making payments and request the mortgage company to resume sending billings as usual when you are current on payments, you may not have to reaffirm. Is this true? Or do I have to reaffirm to make sure I do not lose my home? Already filed and 341 is 12/16. I did not mark the reaffirm on my filing. I will have to ammend if I do have to reaffirm, but it is necessary?

Do you have to reaffirm to keep your home?

I understand that some states require reaffirmation, most don't though. As long as you keep your payments current, you should be fine. (It would not be in the creditor's best interest to put the time & expense into starting foreclosure if you are paying them.)Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.
