It started off SLOW, we got there at 11:30am, out time was for 12:30pm.
Our lawyer went over the basic questions::
~did we have ID and SS cards?
~was it our signatures in the electric petition?
~are there any changes?
~have we owned any property in the last 5 years?
~did we pay anyone over $1000 in the 90 days prior to our filing?
~can we sue anyone for anything?
~do we expect to get and award/inheritance in the next 6 months?
We went over the prep no problem...I asked them what about Illinois wild-card for the 2005 tax refunds, and she said this trustee doesn't ask or care about them. What a big relief!!
So we sat....and sat.....and sat they were running VERY behind. Our 5 year old was an angle
!!!! I'm so proud of him.... Gameboy saved out lives..LOL We finally we called at 2:10pm for our 12:30 meeting.
The way it was set up since there was so many, is there was 2 waiting rooms, and the trustee called you into an office or "chambers"..you did not talk to him up in front of everyone..kinda nice.
So it was finally our chance we walked in and took a seat. He sat at a desk, and we sat in front of him, and our lawyer sat the end of the table toward the back of the room. First thing is the trustee started talking to our son...nice ice breaker..LOL Talking about Halloween, and about all the goodies he would get tonight. Then he checked out IDs and SS cards, then started the tape recorder. We swore us in, and asked us the SAME EXACT questions our lawyer did! We breezed through them. During the meeting I noticed the list of all the people that were before us, (all for CH 7 only....CH 13 were done on the different floor.) I noticed he had written, no asset on most but about 5 were listed as asset) After the questioning he said I list this as a no asset case. Whoo Hoo!!!
, He turned to my Son and said OK I better let you go, have mom and dad take you trick or treating..We all laughed...LOL It was over...WHEW!!! The biggest agony was the waiting
!! Our lawyer said, all done, and we should get our discharge in the mail 60-90 days, she said maybe as late as February due to the swamp of all the filings
. Otherwise everything went cool, the trustee didn't ask for the tax return or anything!!
I hope everyone has a smooth 341, and great Trustee...we lucked out!!!!
I want to thank everyone for all their encouragement
