Roughly how long do I have befor I get sued?

Stopped paying in May 09, suit was filed by Chase in Oct. 09. We were hoping to wait to file but the lawsuit made us act faster.

If it's ok with you, would you please tell us, how long did you have the Chase credit card? And was the balance over $10,000 or below? TIA

I'm trying to determine the factor that would cause the credit card Co. to file a lawsuit in such short time.
