So, there I am trying something...

I filled out some vehicle refi forms...Off they went.

I get an email from where I bought the darn vehicle.

They were trying to push me into a sale, instead of refi.

Made me feel kind of good telling them (Nicely! I swear(too much sometimes) I used no profanity) where I'd like them to stick it.

Yes, I am still trying to get the debts cleared using the house, but the lights are dimming....

Good for you for telling them to put it where the sun don't shine. I'm currently dealing with a car salesperson, and I always forget what a pleasant experience it is. <read sarcasm>

Genenco, I don't recall seeing much about your situation, but do I remember reading you haven't filed for BK yet? Are you just in the process of trying to avoid it?

It must be those poor budgeting skills, lol. <wink>

Well, I have $38,000 in debt. And I'll admit, I do have lousy budgeting skills and also made 3 major errors which got me into hot water and I willingly say "I am at fault" (I even have "Simple Joe's Debt Eraser and Money Tools" which frankly, I think are pretty dang good (Even though I still will BK out)

However, in trying to "Recover" I find it just may be easier to say "Screw you all, I'm dropping you like a bad habit"

I have tried to "Negotiate" in very good faith with the CC and car loan people. But each time it's "No, we want this and nothing less" I of course say "This is all you get and take it or leave it" So, I doubt very much I will not see the inside of a BK room...again.

      Now, how did this occur?

      1. I thought it would make it easier, so I went with paperless billing. They would email me my bill was ready. Problem is, I changed emails and forgot them. (This was 4 bills BTW)

      2. I went "Looking" for a new ride...Yes, got talked into a $24,000 purchase and also $500 down which they hit my bank with, even though they swore they'd wait...Gee, just like the car loan people promised too!)

      3. So, in Sept the CC's caught up with me and to "Catch Up" would have been $2,500. Not to mention I was -300 in bank due to checks being reinserted several times, before I finally could stop payment.

      4. Now? I'd say it's about $3,900 to catch up. I even am talking to a broker and he's telling me that with bad credit, I can get a home, but they'll only loan me 80% of full value. Problem is, if the loan goes to $125,000 the repayment is $1,100 and this would clear all debts, BUT, I clear only $1,678 in a month.

It wouldn't be so bad, but I look at that if 1 SINGLE burp occurs, I am in the toliet for a major amount.

So, I guess that by typing this all out...I think I just convinced myself to go BK 7 after all..Believe me though, if I could come up with $4,000 I surely would. I LOVE being a nice car owner, keeping the creditors happy and being on time and such...But I screwed up and sad to say, the creditors don't seem to be interested in working with me too much...

(NOTE: I make nothing for doing this, but when I dealt with the makers of these programs, they were super nice as I made a choice error, but they cut the price for my second purchase) http://www.simplejoe.com budget software for everyone.

        Geneco,
Are you saying you haven't filed yet??? Still pondering on it??? At least that's the drift I get!!!

Be kind to your, just do it!!! You can beat your brains out trying to get cc companies to cooperate with you and they won't.....

After 4 years of fighting with them I finally got mad and said "shove it - bankruptcy".....

All you good intentions are wasted on a cc company..... they will not accept what you can send till you can get it caught up......

I finally told them "I'm not paying you another dime, write it off!!"

        And I didn't........

Hard for me to go the bankruptcy route, but I did....
When they really force you into it - have no mercy on them...

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

Well Minny, there's one final shot I am taking. If this bombs out, then it's off to my old lawyer....Just got a reply from the new one "Gee, where the paperwork?"

Huh? I filled out 25 PAGES and emailed them back to you with read/accept notification! Which you responded to!

Idiots! and if this is their way of doing things, I'll go with Mr "Don't you lie to me!" Lawyer
