    Dell?? anyone??

I have heard that some people here has/had accounts with Dell. How hard is it to get credit?
I know of some companies will deny you flat out, JUST because you have filed BK in the past. We were just wondering if Dell is like that too?

Has anyone had experiences getting credit with them post BK?

    Inquiring minds want to know....

Only no of one person who had not filed Bk., and had mediocre-average credit and was turned down.
What irritates me with companies from Dell to furniture stores is that they don't take into account how much you're willing/able to make as a down-payment. You could offer to pay 75% down and if you don't fit into their "credit niche" for people with no down payment, then you're denied. It's too cut and dried and too impersonal in my mind.
Personally, I think it would be a very good thing to extend credit to people who had shaky credit histories, if they made a substantial down payment, so that the co. was at a limited risk. I think it would be good for both sides. It would encourage us away from impulse buyiing and would put the co. at much less risk. Seems to me that's the way it worked when I was a kid, but that was many, many moons ago. Art

Dell and Gateway typically require an applicant to have a "decent" credit to obtain financing from them. But they will probably refer your credit application to some of thier 3rd party affliates if they "Dell or Gateway" cant approve you for a line of credit.
