Things I am thankful for:
1. My spouse. He might be a PITA but he has stood by me these 19 long years through financially numbing circumstances.
2. My children. I wish my children knew just how much I love them and the depths to which I would to protect them. My oldest daughter just turned 18 so I now have four adult children and one still in grade school.
3. My health. I have medical issues, but I still manage to roll out of bed every day, get dressed and go to work.
4. My job. As much as I ***** and moan about how I earn a living, I am fortunate to be employed. So many unemployed people are facing a bleak holiday season.
5. I am thankful I have a roof over my head, locking doors and that I can go to bed at the end of the day knowing my family is safe. So many homeless people rely upon the generosity of strangers for something to eat and a place to sleep.
6. I am thankful that my family has survived this bankruptcy. We are no longer dependent on pay day loans or title loans to float us another week. I am thankful we can answer the phone again and walk to our mailbox with confidence.
7. I am thankful I still have my eyesight and my fingers can still hold a crochet hook or cross-stitch needle. I am thankful for my writing groups and my journals.
8. I am thankful for the hugs from my youngest daughter and that she is still small enough to crawl in bed for a nap cuddle.
9. I am thankful for the love and devotion from "momma's little man" and "momma's little girl," even if I have to let Kyrah out 4-5 times a night.
10. I am thankful for the love of my grandbabies, all nine of them.
11. I am thankful for the pheasants, quail, squirrels and chickadees that flock to my porches for their handouts of seeds and crumbled bread.
12. I am thankful to the people here on this forum who have encouraged, guided, chided, chastized and listened when I felt lonely or discouraged.
I wish you all only the best for the Holiday Season and the New Year!
