    should i worry?

Got a letter today from a lawyer, I'm assuming the one of my credit cards I have just gave up going with creditor and sent it to the lawyer. As I posted in other threads I don't have any assets they can take.. I'm in college still etc. Graduate this semester and was just going to wait till I get a job somewhere post graduation and then start paying. So is this just some form of "intimidation" they are trying to use or what?

It just basically was 'demanding' payment.

    Thanks.

Its a standard collection letter, most likely.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

Yeah these law firm demand letters can be most entertaining - I have a bushel basket of them without one of them turning into something. The actual "threat" of these letters is inversely proportional to the amount of intimidation they use. The notices I watch out for are the little one-liners at the end of the utility bills that tell me my shutoff date. Again the inversely proportional rule applies. These are one sentence and written in plain english and seemingly appear less threatening - yet they are the real deal. Been there, done that.

Sounds like a standard collection letter, but, make NO mistake about it .. just because you don't own anything outright doesn't mean they can't garnish bank accounts, get a judgement, etc. Some of these lawyers could care less what type of situation you may be in. Good luck.
I'm not a lawyer or legal expert, just offering advice on what I may have gone through and/or have knowledge of. Good luck!

True. I had one that started out as just collection letters. Next thing I knew, I was being served up here at work on that account. Was being sued for the amount due, plus attorney/court costs.
