    Corporate Credit Card

I was discharged in August '05 from a chapter 7 and was recently hired by a company only to discover that AMEX declined my application for a corporate credit card. Why would they care if it is a company card? I told my boss last week about the chapter 7 and he told me to fill out the app.

Does anyone have an idea as to what is going on? Could the company intervene on my behalf?

AMEX is very much BK Unfriendly. It could be something w/ their terms. If you filled out a credit app, they checked your credit. If you were being put on an existing corporate account (like an AU) they probably wouldn't have run your credit. I have heard that Amex will decline, even for AU status, people who had prior negatives with them though.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

      Corporate Amex

Amex provides two platforms on their corporate cards. Under one, your company bites the bullet and tells Amex to send you a card - your credit score isn't used. In the 2nd, your credit is pulled and Amex makes a decision on you. Your company does have an option (likely), whereby they can have Amex provide your card, but usually requires your boss (or VP level) to send them a letter with the okay. Talk to your company's Amex coordinator - they can tell you what your options are. Generally, if your company requires you to travel, etc. they can get you the card - although they may impose a reasonable creidt limit on it. Speaking from experience with both platforms, here.
