Been in Chapter 13 for 2 years now wanted to know can i buy a house while in bankruptcy? I have talked to my attorney in Trust and the Court to get permission in was giving the okay but need help on what steps to take now..
I would like to buy a house too. I have been in a chapt 13 for 3 yrs with 2 more years left. I went to a Ryan Homes site and the loan officer told me that as long as I have on time trustee payments for 2 yrs I can get financed with trustee approval. I called my atty and he said I should wait until my chapt 13 is over because he doesn't want to make any waves. I'm frustrated because the market is so awesome right now and I am afraid if I wait two more yrs when my chapt 13 is done interest rates will be high again and I won't be able to afford to own a home. What did you have to do or provide to the Trustee to get approval? I'm wanting a house that is less than I am paying in rent so I can't imagine that would make any waves. Do I have to have my atty request permission from the trustee or can I do this by myself?
