Mortgage Modification after Chapter 7 discharge

I have a quick question, we are discharged and closed from a chapter 7, we did a ride through with our mortgage, if we were to do a modification now, would that reaffirm our mortage.

    Thanks in advance

No. I am pretty sure this is prevented by section 524 of the Bankruptcy code.

Do get an attorney to review and advise you before you sign any important financial documents.

    Good luck!

      No.

A modification changes the terms of your original agreement- it doesn't pay off/refinance that contract. There should actually be a disclaimer in the mortgage docs about it not changing the outcome of a bankruptcy case.
