Advised to file Chpt 7 ASAP! Need copy of Missing Income Tax from 2002! HELP! How?

I have been advised to file BK ASAP! I have to collect the past 4 years of my income tax and am missing my 2002 income tax filings. I have my W-2 but the attached forms can not be found. I need to get the forms before Friday!!!

Anyone know if there is a software download, a requestable copy that CAN be received in 48 hours OR blank copies w/instructions+ that I can just recreate?

    Need help FAST!

You can file without it. My trustee only asked for 2 years.

Well I know that all lawyers/trustees can be different but my lawyer specificly asked for 4 years. I plan to call him but do you really think that this would not be an issue?

I think you could file and attach the form to your petition when you receive a copy from the IRS.

Your attny can give you instructions to request a Transcript from the IRS. It's faster than waiting for an actual copy of a particular year to come and the Court will accept a Transcript.

I didn't have actual copies of my taxes (they take 6-10 weeks to recieve and cost $35 each AFAIK). I requested transcripts which were free and took a few days and my trustee accepted them without blinking.

How to get transcripts...use the phone method, the paper method takes longer. Trustee accepts transcripts....in fact, I understand they prefer them because they are proof you filed. Anybody can make out some tax forms and say they filed taxes..without sending them in!!!

              Requesting transcripts (individuals):

You have two easy and convenient options for getting copies of your federal tax return information--tax return transcripts and tax account transcripts--by phone or by mail.

Request transcripts by calling 1-800-829-1040, or order by mail using IRS Form 4506T (Request for Transcript of Tax Return). We do not charge a fee for transcripts. Allow two weeks for delivery.

              Definitions:

A tax return transcript shows most line items from your tax return (Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ) as it was originally filed, including any accompanying forms and schedules. It does not reflect any changes you, your representative or the IRS made after the return was filed. In many cases, a return transcript will meet the requirements of lending institutions such as those offering mortgages and for applying for student loans.

A tax account transcript shows any later adjustments either you or the IRS made after the tax return was filed. This transcript shows basic data, including marital status, type of return filed, adjusted gross income and taxable income.
