Is it common for the trustee to ask about charges that are 2 years old? How old does a charge or cash advance have to be in order to be insulated from trustee inquiry?

      Credit Card Charges

QUESTION: Hope it's OK that I jump in here with an inquiry about the credit card charges. Is it common that a trustee would ask about a 2-year-old credit card charge? Is it b/c the trustee was looking to liquidate items you may have purchased? What if it had been a cash advance that you'd lived on or put into improving your home? I thought charges of a "certain age" were exempt from inquiry. Am I wrong? Would it be different in a Chpt 7?
      Thanks,
