Did I make a big mistake?

I'm planning on filing in the next couple of weeks (chapter 7). I needed to pay an electrician to do some work on my home and borrowed $500 from my dad last week. I paid him back 3 days later (via online transfer through my bank) when my husband got paid. Now I'm thinking about it and wondering if this is going to cause me any problems?

    Just ask your attorney.

Just over 6 months ago we had a major car repair ($1100), we actually broke down on our way home about 6 hours away. My father towed the car and had his guy do the repair, he also paid for the bill. We paid him back the exact amount not even a week later. I thought this would be a problem but my attorney said, "you paid for a car repair, nothing more" and I said great.

    See what yours says.

it will not be a problem, it's not a luxury item.
This Forum is better than any lawyer I met.

Not true. It's a preferential payment to a family member.

        But...

It's under $600 so you should be fine as long as you did not pay your father any other money this year.
You can't take a picture of this. It's already gone. ~~Nate, Six Feet Under
