Wife's car dept was discharged under bk7 in Dec, we didn't reafirm it and were making payments on it till she lost her job last month. Surrendered car to bank manager and gave her keys a couple weeks ago but they would'nt give her a receipt for it. Now I'm wondering if we should have just kept it and let them repo it. We have no prove that we turned car over to them. Are they supose to send a letter of receipt to us?

Just to update this thread, Car is still sitting in banks parking lot 9 weeks after we turned it in, not a word from the bank yet. Guess they are real slow at having it picked up.Comment

Fax a letter to the bank manager documenting when you turned the car in. Then go snap some pictures of it sitting in their lot.Comment

Went by the bank today and the car is finally gone. Anyone know if they have to notify me that they have it now?Comment
