In just over a month we should all vote out every incumbent regardless of party lines just for the purpose of getting the message across.

It won't happen but it will be nice to see it.

I do believe that in their heart-of-hearts and soul-of-souls all parties, dems, reps, and inds want to do the right thing for the citizens. Its just that the political system is so screwed up, it is hard for any individual's representative to not play the game. Maybe what is missing is that the overall leadership at the executive level has not truly attempted to represent the people and use the power of the branch to represent the peoples' needs rather than party or special interest needs. It seems that it would be be quite simple to address the issue of "what is best for the people," but our political system does not seem to reward politicians for truly addressing the needs of its citizens. Too bad...

because they do not care about their citizens or Their needs. What they need is rewards for not caring. After all, Bush flushed the constitution down the toilet with his own crap 7 years ago.

I disagree with you that these politicians have the citizens in their heart of hearts. What they have in their heart of hearts is POWER & control over the citizens. When Nanci Pooploosi says she wants to protect the taxpayer, that is interpreted as: we want tax money to spend on our personal agendas, to buy new cars and big plush chairs to sit in because her 25 million dollars is not enough. AND! they owe the elitists promises and favors to make them richer.

They address it to persuade your vote and that is all. What is missing is, those in power do not care about you and you can see this all over the globe and through history, not just the USA. The promised lies, honest frauds in congress and sophisticated abuse are at last catching up here as well.

I can't believe people wanted a bailout with so little information coupled with a rush to sign so quickly. This sounded so much like we must go to Iraq because of WMDs only to find out there were none.

Exactly. and you know because so much is collapsing all at once, these fruitloop politicians are very worried about the people revolting and running them into woods to be hung.

I do not ever recall congress being this injured and in peril in my life. They have always schmoozed and glossed it over. This time it is exploding and they can't hide it.
