The have nots have no clue cause they didn't have the means or ways to educate themselves to move into big business or be part of the haves. The have nots want what the haves have so bad the haves invented ways to give that to the have nots knowing they could profit immensely. It doesn't take a PHD to realize how all this came about or how it all works. The haves got so greedy at the extreme profits they were making, that when it all collapsed, the have nots realized what was going on, realized their own stupidity at being duped and the haves ran withi their tails between their legs pointing fingers at one another or commiting suicide. When the mortgage market started to collapse, a major subprime lender President jumped off a bridge in the NJ area cause he knew what was coming in the next few days.

The greed train has not yet slowed down as there are still many "haves" out there as we all notice. There are no declines at stadium events, Nascar races with the seas of motor homes, planes are full with travelers, etc. These folks either have the money or are in debt up to their eyeballs. What the have nots have to learn is that if they don't have the money to begin with, they cannot borrow their way into being a have. The haves took advantage of that and profited tremendously from it.

There is some truth to this but we can't kill capitalism just to cater to the have nots, especially since most humans are born have nots and capitalism helped lift millions from poverty.

I have only one solution which would help everyone without the socialism, regulation, etc. that's coming.

That is to force financial managment education in every high school and no one would get a diploma unless they got an 80% or higher average.

This would help everyone since the "haves" are paying for the "have nots" education.

Those that are highly educated on just how all this works can better defend themselves against all the sub-prime, c.c. and payday scams.

You can't help everyone but at least we won't have a meltdown of the system to the current proportion.

I would agree a financial management course education in high school should be mandatory. I'm sure the banks etc would fight it but it is something that is needed.

        THIS!

BTW, the opinion of the Russian... I lived in Russia for two years between 1999 and 2001 (returned to American just post 9/11); and have been back 6 times since then. There is still a very large communist party in Russia, they live off old pensions in the most expensive cities in the world, protest on Red Square weekly, visit Lenin's tomb every Sunday and generally cause problems. Their country is hyper-capitalist in most regards, because the existing regulatory bodies were created strictly for bureaucracy sake, not for oversight. They want to see us fall, badly. Their young generation is so consumptive that criticism will soon turn inward. People in glass houses should not throw stones.

/I have not ruled out moving back to Russia (or anywhere), if it becomes a richer country.

Yes - where are the promised jobs????? I swear if I were young again I'd go dance at a strip club!!!
Thank you for the above posts - it sounds like the conversations we have every time we gather with friends. I unfortunately watched a Nostredamus show - and then (boy am I stupid) a program about Mayan predictions....and the things that were said about citizens losing all faith in leaders etc. just made me ill. I won't ponder these, but today I feel less confidence in our future than any time in my life. My husband refers to the "blank check" the government is using constantly...every time the news is on. I have written letters and emails and wish there were something more to be done. It seems "we the people" must watch and wait and hope and pray ALOT!!!!!

In short mymare, they lied to you. No bail out, no stimulus package in history has created jobs. In the long run they cost jobs.
