Red Tide Documentary being shot on gulf coast

...of FL near me! Not something to really brag about but periodically you hear me complain...

If you've no idea what it is, imagine your worst dry throat and have a tickle that makes you want to cough but you can't breathe because the air feels full of amonia drops...and you can't breathe very easily...that's like the worst red tide...

We have a wonderful aquarium, Mote Marine, that is trying to get as much backing for as long as it takes to figure out how to get rid of the bloom which occurs in the warm water and is actually an alge overgrowth...

I've lived on the water since 1991 and the past two years are the only times I've encountered it...and I despise it.

We could not go outside all last summer...when we were a block away...that's how bad it was, for real.

This past summer it hasn't been like that, just dead fish odor most of the time which, keeps the beach barren as well of humans.

So, if you're scientifically inclined, curious, planning on going anywhere on the gulf coast of FL in the near future and want to be informed (Boston did have red tide hit them as well...so it's not just a Florida problem...we just seem not to have it leave us....keep a watch on the discovery channel or website...for RED TIDE in Florida~
