    Oreck machines

Well, as some of you know I bought my Orecks in early July. Here is my report, and no I'm not selling them.

Breathing and sleep are 100% deeper. I noticed that I am able to breathe much deeper and sleep all night. We dust alot less, yes, the units do get dusty on the outside. No dog odor. Units also have quiet mode but make excellent "white noise" as well and drown out the "patio hindus" next door who are very loud, cursing people late at night when all is quiet and most folks are inside (other than that they are the quietest TH neighbors on earth, so i don't want them to go). And yes, they are Hindu and fowl language is no different to these folks than regular language. I have several such neighbors and have never met a group that employ the "F" word more, even around their kids. So, in that respect these units are a Godsend.

Downside, odor filters aren't cheap but I have only had to change one. The units get full of dust, mine get cleaned about every three weeks. We live in SoFla a very dusty environment. Alot less dust in the home.

the little sweeper they "give" you is excellent, does the floors so well that it has to be cleaned out alot from dog hair (Princess is tiny but sheds like crazy). It does better than my big Hoover on floors.

Overall, the machines are worth it so long as they last several years. If you have had respiratory problems like me they are excellent.

Hey Min, well four to five months with the Orecks. What a difference! The machines have had to be cleaned twice. SoFla out here is very dusty. The red light came on tonite and the bedroom unit has been popping. Full of dust. We breath better, dust less and the "white noise factor" is great. Love them, they resolved my breathing issues, since pneumonia in '95 I have never felt this good.

            Love them

We have one of these in each room, we are all asthmatic and they have been a godsend!! Like said the only downside is the air filter price.
I was so happy with them I bough the oreck vaccum a few years back with the hypo allergenic bags. First vaccum I havent broken within two years!! I need a good vaccum with three dogs!
Has anyone bough the one from Sharper image? I wonder how that one works.

The air machine I have doesn't use filters, which is great. I just need to clean off the filter element when it's dirty. :-)

Your talking about a Sharper Image, a high dollar one right, chrome element you wipe off? Seen them, there $400-$500 bucks.

Correct...the element is stainless steel though. Mine didn't cost anywhere near that amount either. But I purchased mine a few years ago.

How do we end up with so much darn dust in FL? Would it be better to be in AZ? My bf has asthma, my kids are already there (due to mold allergies), and I can't really take the mold/dust anymore either...
