John Carptenter's "The Thing" man oh man.....stay up late on a few brews.....and when they stick the hot paperclip in the blood and it squeels and jumps out of the petri dish.....about wet myself

Hmmmmm Iguess thats a Sci-Fi and not a horror........

Maybe the first Nightmare on Elm Street was 1 of the ultimates......not the sequals or prequals or prequills or spin offs or second hand renditions.....but the original 1st one

This was the freakiest for me. I saw it when it first came out and I was ALOT younger. I couldn't sleep at night very good for months.

Saw, The Ring, The Grudge is scary and The Hills Have Eyes was pretty creepy

LOL I hated that, scared the heck out of me!!...My dad is a big Sci -Fi freak and we used to watch all kinds of movies like that.

One movie that scared the crap out of me was the 3rd story in Trilogy of Terror (1975) The 3rd story is called "Amelia,". She's purchases a doll as a gift: a Zuni hunting fetish, equipped with razor sharp teeth and a spear. The scroll claims that the doll contains the actual spirit of a Zuni hunter known as "He Who Kills", and that if the gold chain that adorns the doll should ever be removed, the spirit would bring the doll to life. Needless to say the chain falls off.......
No I was only 6yrs when I saw this movie, but the sound of the doll was something that sticks with ya!! My dad had to carry me to bed, cause I wouldn't put my feet on the floor...LOL...LOL

Otherwise the Nightmare on Elm Street, and the 1st Aliens movie was freaky. Again I was younger so they all scared me...LOL

The last scary movie was Saw... Made you think.

On a side note.....I remember when I first touched down in England (my parents were airforce) I was like 8 or 9 and Pink Floyd was playing "The Wall"....and there is a part in the video (at least in the original) the teacher grinds the kids up in a meat press. What kind of first impression is that??? hahahahha

The ultimate would have to be a tie between 3 - "Christine" and "The Exorcist" and "Poltergeist".....all because I was so young then.

"The Descent" has been my current favorite....MUST SEE if you like to be scared or watch others "jump".

"Final Destination" is a fav of mine also...Saw was a trip too.
When it all boils down to it, its just numbers! Your credit score, your interest rate, your bank account, and your net worth if you're fortunate enough to have one......is your happiness really defined by numbers?

The scariest movie I ever saw was "Silence of the Lambs" just because I know that there are really people out there that are that sick.

My teenagers and their friends LOVE horror movies. I'll have to ask them their favorites.

Add my vote for the first 'Nightmare on Elm Street'! I still get the heebie-jeebies when I think about that one - and I really like horror movies.

PA--I forgot all about that movie. I saw it very young too and I was always afraid to open the oven door! I have to rent that again. I never knew what it was called but you mentioning it brought back all these vivid memories and how that movie terrified me!

Dawn of the dead, the '04 version. definitely. Not into horror at all, but that one would have been a GREAT drive-in flick in the 70's. Especially at Tropicaire down in South Miami with all the woods and darkness around.

Funny thing is my brother has been trying to get it from Netflicks to "backup" , but it has been out of print, and last year you couldn't get it anywhere unless you shell out $60-$75. I wanted to buy it for him last year.
HOWEVER they just re-released it August 2006....I just bought it for $12.96 !!! His birthday is on the 23rd....can't wait until he opens it and then makes me a "backup"...LOL
